2015 PDC Summit- International Summit & Exhibition on Health Facility Planning, Design & Construction

In this roundtable presentation, members of the ASHE HCAHPS task force will explain a suggested plan of action for incorporating attention to the patient experience into other, routine activities. Also introduced will be checklists, forms, case studies, and other resources from a recently published ASHE monograph on how facility staff can help improve HCAPHS scores. The presenters will also facilitate audience discussion of questions about attendees HCAHPS challenges and brainstorming of solutions. This session will enable attendees to:

• Describe facility issues that may contribute to HCAPHS challenges and identify solutions for their organizations.
• Discuss current research on how the health care physical environment impacts patient outcomes and HCAHPS scores and reimbursement.
• Assess HCAPHS improvement tools and resources for use by their facility staff.
• Apply lessons learned from case studies that illustrate how renovation and maintenance decisions can contribute to improved HCAPHS scores.
